High quality standards in production process control
Selvolina s.a.s. is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in production process control, ensuring that all our products comply with European safety regulations.
Our long experience in the field of metal carpentry and our high level of control of the production process have helped us obtain the most important certifications and qualifications for steel and aluminium processing. These certificates include:
- ISO9001 : Quality Certification for IAF 17 and 28.
- ISO 3834-2: Certification for the quality of welding for the fusion of metallic materials, Part 2: Extended quality requirements.
- EN 1090-1: Certification for production control, which allows us to affix the CE mark to our steel and aluminium products, ensuring their compliance with the safety requirements of EU directives and regulations.
- Steel Transformation Centre Qualification: Issued by the Central Technical Service with Ministerial Authorisation no. 3002/14.

Execution of steel and aluminium structures; Part 3: Technical requirements for aluminium structures.
EN 1090-1 certification, we can apply the CE marking to all our steel and aluminium products in compliance with European safety regulations. EN 1090-1 regulation requires the project manager to specify the level of quality control of the manufacturing process according to the execution class model.
With reference to this model, we are certified to manufacture in execution class EXC3, on a scale from EXC1 to EXC4 where class 1 is the least strict.
We are registered to the e-marketplaces of the national and regional Public Administration (Acquisti in Rete PA, Sintel, Mesa, Start, etc) to deliver our complete range of products as quickly as possible, with full transparency and traceability.

The load capacity of Selvolina stages is verified and tested with real testing systems of the structure, in relation to the weight of 600 kg/m² that the walking surface must resist, and to the horizontal load of 300 kg/m on guardrails.
The test of the walking surface is carried out by filling a container on the stage with water. The container is 60 cm high and is filled with water to reach a load equal to the nominal stage capacity of 2.400 kg for each module of 4 m².
The distance between the beams and the ground is measured before the weight is loaded. This distance is re-measured when the stage is loaded at its maximum capacity to check if the material is deformed within the maximum deflection recommended for steel. Finally, after having unloaded the weight of the water from the stage, the distance between the beams and the ground is re-measured to verify if it has returned to its initial value.
The test of the horizontal load on the guardrail is carried out with a forklift that pushes the guardrail outwards and applying a load of 600 kg to each 2-m-long module.
The legal warranty of a product is compulsory by law, lasts for a year in case of purchases made by a company and is legally binding if the product does not conform.
In addition to the legal warranty, constructions have to comply with the requirements of the Italian Ministerial Decree NTC 2018 of 17 January 2018, which defines the durability of a metal structure as the capacity of a construction to keep the performance levels for which it has been designed throughout the project lifecycle, taking into consideration the environmental characteristics where it is located and the maintenance level. These requirements depend on a few factors such as materials, building details, dimensions, and the monitoring systems of those events which may affect the structure itself.
According to these parameters, the nominal project life cycle is defined as the number of years over which the construction has to keep its performance levels and our structures, which can be disassembled and reused, have a life cycle of 50 years, that is 40 years more than temporary structures.
These conditions and values are set and guaranteed by the technical report, Declaration of Performance (DoP), CE label and use and maintenance manual (that contains the details of the inspections required by the maintenance plan or, if needed, an annual inspection in order to check structural stability and safety), which accompany our structures.
Selvolina s.a.s. is synonymous with quality and safety in the metal carpentry sector, with internationally recognised certifications guaranteeing products that comply with the strictest safety regulations. For further details, visit our website or contact us directly.
